American Sign Language
ASL Basics
American Sign Language is a beautiful, creative language that is perfect for your kinesthetic learner! In this beginning class we will learn the Manual Alphabet, basic conversational vocabulary, and vocabulary related to specific topics such as animals, family members, and colors.

In addition to learning the Manual Alphabet, each 4 week session will learn topic-specific vocabulary, such as colors, animals, and family members. Students will learn simple sentences (such as “I like dogs” and “My favorite color is green.”) and conversational phrases. Three 4 weeks sessions will be offered so that by the end of the 12 week series, your student will have composed and can show you a short autobiography in ASL! As a bonus, we will learn some special Springtime vocabulary!
