This class is part two of the Essay Writing Series. After completing the course “Mastering the 5 Paragraph Essay in 6 Easy Lessons”, this course expands the student's essay-writing skills to include the most common types of essays.
*This course can be taken without taking the first essay writing class

In the first course, “Mastering the 5 Paragraph Essay in 6 Easy Lessons”, students gained the basic skills to effectively write a 5 paragraph essay. This course expands on those skills and teaches the skills necessary to successfully and painlessly write each of the 4 most commonly assigned types of essays: argumentative/persuasive, expository, narrative, and descriptive. Students will learn how to approach these types of essays and become confident in their skills. There is a lot of feedback offered on the student's essays and perfecting the essay will be done in collaboration with the instructor.

About Heather Vargas
Heather Vargas has 25 years experience in teaching, 19 of those homeschooling her 5 children. Two are in college now - the first is pursuing a degree in Global Studies/Peace and Conflict at UC Berkeley and the second is studying Political Science and Psychology at San Diego State, while the youngest ones are still homeschooled. Having attended UCLA for undergraduate and graduate school and earning a degree in molecular and cellular biology, science and math are a specialty. After many years of creating and teaching her own homeschool curriculum, she is able to supply and teach curriculum in all subjects.
