In the world around us patterns abound! Mathematicians learn many fascinating things from the natural world. Students will discover number sequences, make predictions, extend patterns and create visuals to communicate their ideas and discoveries. This is an opportunity to be inspired by the Fibonacci spiral and other patterns we find in nature. Learn how to detect and extend patterns and express them using visuals, equations and verbal explanations.
Each week we will do a puzzle and or game and work on a math project. Students will explain their strategies and process for solving the puzzles and discover similarities and differences in the ways the class solves problems
