Learn life skills the fun way! In this class, we learn cooking (something other than ramen), budgeting, and basic etiquette, while learning a little (or more) about nutrition, food hygiene, and of course, we’ll learn to bake a cake like a pro. New students are accepted throughout the course.

Learn life skills the fun way! In this class, we learn cooking (something other than ramen), budgeting, and basic etiquette, while learning a little (or more) about nutrition, food hygiene, and of course, we’ll learn to bake a cake like a pro.
What We Provide:
~ an interactive virtual class via Zoom (after registering, we will email Zoom links and passwords for attending classes).
~ a list of simple ingredients and equipment emailed in advance of class
~ recipes via PDF
~ class notes regarding any help students will need from parents (young ones might need help with turning on the oven, slicing, etc.) and advance prep on ingredients (e.g. pre-baking a potato)
What We’ll Need from You
~ supervision, as appropriate. For example, your seven-year-old should not be left unattended in the kitchen with a sharp knife!
~ ingredients and equipment. We promise to keep them simple.

About Your Instructor
Ms. Zippay earned her undergraduate degree in Journalism at Southern Illinois University followed by a Juris Doctor degree in Chicago at Kent College of Law, specializing in Environmental Law. She received her Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis in leadership and sustainability from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business.
She is a local business entrepreneur of two education-based enterprises, Radical Radishes, a writing workshop and summer program for children and young adults, and Radical Cooks, a cooking school for both adults and children. She has served on many education-based non-profit boards including, but not limited to: Mt. Washington Elementary School Site Council, Odyssey Charter School, and the Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council.
