Good writers "show" rather than "tell". This class will explore many ways to expand a simple sentence by adding descriptive language that answers the basic questions: who, what, when, where, why, and how. Students will expand their vocabulary as they learn to use a thesaurus to find effective descriptive words. Students will complete several worksheets to practice their new skills and learn the difference between bland and exciting writing. Parts of speech will be covered as well.
