Gina Conroy

I love when students get excited about writing, even reluctant writers. Whether they love to write or find it difficult, I make it fun and show them how to use their writing super powers!  After graduating with a degree in communications and journalism, I published several fiction and nonfiction books as well as hundreds of newspaper, magazine articles and blog posts. I hosted a podcast called Teen Writers Publish for teens of all ages based on the bestselling Amazon book “Release the Novel in You.”  While attending writing conferences for 20 years, I designed courses to teach my homeschooled kids how to write more descriptively. Aside from being a private writing tutor, I’ve taught in private schools, homeschool co-ops as well as writing programs to the public.  While there’s no greater reward than seeing a confused or frustrated child light up with understanding, I love challenging the gifted to reach their full potential. No matter where your child’s writing falls, I’ll encourage, challenge, and take their writing to the next level.  My guidance will inspire your child’s voice to be released, and my instruction will shape ideas into creative, cohesive, and impactful writing, which benefits every subject.

Strong Sentences & the Spectacular Parts of Speech
“My son was really struggling with putting together his thoughts and getting them on paper. His sentences and paragraphs were very simple and basic. His writing was below grade level. Since your class, his writing has greatly improved! He feels much more confident and he uses your suggestions and techniques without any prompting from me. He said that he really enjoyed your class and I believe him because he retained info and uses it daily in his writing now.” Jenny W.

“My middle child doesn’t like writing and it has been pretty painful for him. However, Gina Conroy’s writing class helped him become a better and more confident writer. It helped him to get his thoughts together without getting “stuck.” My oldest did the class too. She loves writing and improved as well. She said Ms. Conroy was her favorite teacher this year.” -Jyl, mom to two teenagers

“Yes! Get your kids signed up for one of Gina’s classes! I’ve been writing for decades and this is the most easy-to-understand explanation about writing that I’ve ever seen. And it looks FUN! Seriously– check into her classes!” – Kelly Huckaby, homeschool mom, writer, and editor

Strong Sentences & the Spectacular Parts of Speech “Gina has excellent lesson plans, thorough homework packages and really engages the kids. Our daughter enjoyed her interactive teaching style.”

“I feel my child’s sentences became much stronger (no pun intended) And we saw improvement in her writing abilities. This is the second class we’ve attended with Ms. Gina and We absolutely love her! She keeps all the kids engaged and participating no matter the topic!”

“Excellent class for my son who will be entering 3rd grade. Engaging teacher and creative way to teach what could be a dry topic.”

P.A.I.N.T. With Your Words “The prompts and exercises were great in this class and Ms. Conroy did a great job of including my son and making sure he felt comfortable. Writing is difficult for him, but he asked to take this class and wanted to do it on his own as much as possible. He didn't complete all of the exercises, but came away from the class with increased confidence in writing. He enjoyed the class, which is a huge success.”

“Gina is great, she makes the kids think creatively and helps them paint a picture with their words for their reader. I'm hoping my kids can take this class again in August.”

“My child said "this class actually helped me a lot." (a rare statement) The poetry section was helpful in word choice and meaning. Great for age 10 and my daughter loved that the teacher is a published author! Highly recommend!”

“My son, 11, has taken a dozen classes so far. He liked the class just fine but this is by far MY favorite class. It will make your child think and be challenged (a little) but it's very well done. I was very pleased with what my son wrote. If I could give this class a 10/5 I would!”
